About us
Westwood Pet Care has been established for 24+ years. As a women and veteran-owned business, work-life balance is important to us. We even have a kids’ playroom in the clinic for when children need to come to work with their parents, and we believe in flexible hours and scheduling.
We have a cohesive and collaborative team that isn’t afraid to get dirty but also likes to have fun with team-building games and activities. Clients comment on and appreciate how attentive our staff is and how they know their pets so well and pick up on their quirks and likes.
Our clients are the cream of the crop and are always a pleasure to serve. Most new clients turn into lifelong clients who love us, and we love their pets and stories. We have a very high compliance rate that allows us to practice medicine the way it should be.
Our lead doctor, Dr Amanda Joki, has a passion for mentorship. She loves helping new grads gain their feet and confidence and also works with pre-vet students and tech students to gain experience in their fields.
This is a great veterinary office! No crowded waiting room, no long waits. They don’t double or triple book their time slots, apparently. They gave a fair estimate for a surgical procedure, and came in near the bottom of the range for the actual bill. Dr. Joki and staff don’t mind a crazy, jumping 48-pound large breed puppy. About this role
An Associate is expected to:
- Be proficient in routine surgical procedures and basic dentistry
- Be comfortable working up complex medical cases and know when referral is ideal
- Be proficient in imaging analysis and diagnostic interpretation
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical records
- New grads are welcome, and mentorship is always available for consults

We are seeking a motivated individual who wants to elevate their medicine and practice a gold-standard of care. We emphasize learning and training and have a goal to be able to provide learning and training opportunities to all of our employees to hone their personal interests and abilities.
Our ideal candidate will be willing to learn and adapt to new environments, have a pleasant attitude towards others, and be a strong client communicator and patient advocate.

Dothan, AL has all the southern charm of a small town and yet all the amenities and healthcare options of a large city. With a low cost of living, it makes it easy to build your dreams here. Additionally, we are only a short drive from the coast and Panama City Beach, have proximity to big city Atlanta, GA for an easy weekend getaway, and host a small regional airport, as well as being close to several international hubs in Montgomery, Panama City, and Atlanta.
