Located in the heart of Irvine, California, our 24-hour hospital serves as a beacon of specialty and emergency care just south of Los Angeles. We are a collaborative community of experts including specialists in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, and Neurology. About this role
As the ER Service Head, you will be the clinical and operational heartbeat of our emergency department. Your mission is to bridge the gap between emergency and specialty services while mentoring the next generation of clinicians to ensure seamless patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage clinician schedules and facilitate regular ER department meetings.
- Mentorship: Oversee case management and provide guidance to ER clinicians and new ICU support staff.
- Operational Integration: Act as the primary liaison between ER and Specialty services to manage hospitalized cases effectively.
- Quality & Safety: Partner with hospital leadership to implement patient safety reporting and new medical protocols.
- Strategic Growth: Contribute to recruiting efforts and oversee capital purchases for the ER/ICU departments.
About you
You are a seasoned emergency professional with a passion for both clinical excellence and people leadership. You thrive in high-stakes environments but find equal fulfillment in coaching others and fostering a healthy, collaborative work environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- DVM from an accredited university with a successfully completed internship.
- A minimum of three years of dedicated ER experience.
- Previous leadership or management experience is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to act as a “sounding board” between diverse medical teams.
