About us
John R. Steele & Associates, Inc. is an exclusively equine veterinary practice founded by the legendary Dr. John R. Steele, member of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame. We have been providing high level veterinary care for 50 years. The success of our company is built upon a strong foundation of three pillars: client service, highest quality veterinary care, and work ethic. These values instilled by Dr. John R. Steele are the mainstay of our practice.
Our veterinarians provide a number of services in an ambulatory setting. Services include wellness care, such as physical exams, pre-purchase exams, performance evaluations, lameness exams and vaccinations. Acupuncture and chiropractic services are also provided. Advanced diagnostic imaging, such as ultrasonography, digital radiography, and endoscopy are available, as well as shock wave, regenerative laser and FES therapies.
What makes our work meaningful is knowing that everything we do is in support of the horse. From diagnostics to recovery, our team focuses on helping equine athletes stay healthy, comfortable, and able to perform at their best. Supporting the horse is always at the center of our practice
About this role
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join Dr. Ober’s team in the capacity of a Veterinary Assistant with a focus on oversight of group logistics and organization. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and organizing the staff for two veterinarians, developing and implementing strategies for logistics, while also actively participating in veterinary technician and assistant duties.
Key skills and abilities:
- Experience in an equine veterinary setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
About you
The ideal candidate will have a passion for equine sport horses, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude are essential for this role, as you will be working closely with both the veterinary team and support staff to provide high-quality care to our animal patients. Previous experience in a veterinary setting and knowledge of medical terminology and procedures are preferred.
Our location
Dr. Ober is based out of Wellington, FL from late November to mid April and Gordonsville, VA for the remainder of the year with some travel in between.
