About us

Leander Veterinary Clinic is a well-established, energetic, private, small animal hospital in Leander, TX- Just 15 miles north of beautiful Austin.

Dr. Samuel Morehead recently celebrated his 10th Anniversary serving the Leander community by opening his 8000 sq ft small animal hospital. The new, state-of-the-art facility is equipped to care for hospitalized and sick patients and perform advanced dental procedures, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgeries.

Dr. Morehead at Leander Veterinary Clinic has cared for my many pets (cats and dogs, over about 3 decades) for years. He gives the very best of care to my much-loved pets – and gives you all the options for their care. He has seen us through some very difficult situations with the obvious compassion and concern for my fur babies. The staff mirrors his high standards and care as well. About this role

Qualifications:

  • License to practice veterinary medicine in Texas
  • Veterinary license in good standing
  • Students & new graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Open to experienced practitioners
  • DEA license preferred

About you

We are looking for a caring, compassionate doctor to join our highly skilled and energetic team. We are a great practice for new and experienced veterinarians looking for the freedom that comes with private practice. We are seeking someone who wants to be a part of a collaborative team, practice high-quality medicine, and enjoy the benefits of a supportive, growing community.

Additionally, we welcome students looking for Summer internships, and externships to visit the hospital. Our primary focus during externships is to hone clinical skills and familiarize you with practice. Externs participate in client interactions/communication, case management, diagnostic and treatment plans, and assist with surgical and dental procedures. We are happy to assist with housing.

Our location

Leander is a town with a heart as big as Texas itself and just 30 minutes from downtown Austin. It is a vibrant, fast-growing community with great schools. It is a beautiful place to raise a family and close to Austin, with some of the country’s best food and live music. Amazing parks, beautiful lakes, and scenic Texas hill country surround us. We would love for you to visit! Once you experience Central Texas, you won’t want to leave.

Our offer

Compensation Package

Full-Time:

  • Base Salary: $160,000 + Prosal for experienced Dr’s offers the opportunity to earn well over $200,000. Sign-on bonus: $30,000. Relocation assistance: $10,000. PTO: 80 hours

Part-Time:

  • Sign-on bonus: $10,000-$15,000. Relocation assistance: $5,000. PTO: 40 hours.
