About us
DoveLewis is a different kind of veterinary hospital. As a non-profit with no private equity or corporate investors, we have built a collaborative community that is dedicated to serving every animal and every person who cares for them, including our staff!
DoveLewis is also an AHAA-accredited, VECCS Level 1 Emergency and Specialty Hospital. With a team of 200+ people, including 13+ veterinary specialists and 6+ veterinary technician specialists, we have been providing world-class care for over 50 years.
We are a teaching hospital that challenges our own staff to be lifelong learners and also provides educational materials to uplift the entire veterinary industry via our continuing education platform, atDove.
If we could give more than 5 stars, we would. We had to take our dog into Dove Lewis Hospital in NW Portland for emergency surgery during a severe weather event in the city. We received quick and compassionate care from all the support staff, physician assistants, nurses and both doctors. Communication was excellent. We even received an update and picture of our girl when we had to leave her overnight because we couldn’t get back to her due to our neighborhood being iced in. All costs on the care and surgery were explained in detail and we found them to be quite reasonable. We would not hesitate to take our pup there again and will recommend them to all our family and friends with pets. Thank you so much, DoveLewis. We are happy to have her home with us again and almost back to her normal happy self – Paul & Sue R – Google Review

A genuine love of and respect for all animals is required, as is an appreciation of the human-animal bond.
