Northland Veterinary Group is a mixed practice, multi-clinic environment that services the whole of the greater Whangarei district. You will have a varied and interesting case load. We are Best Practice accredited. The practice is well-equipped, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental x-ray, fluid pumps, and IDDEX.
Our Maunu Rd clinic is located centrally and is a busy centre caring for companion animals, production animals, and is our equine base.
Completely refurbished in 2011 ,the facilities provide modern consulting rooms, onsite diagnostic laboratory testing , radiography and ultrasound rooms, a surgical suite, and separate cat and dog wards . For convenience, there is parking available in front of the clinic and a large parking area behind the building.
The clinic is open 7 days a week with qualified and experienced staff to provide a comprehensive range of services and products for pet owners, farmers, and small block owners. There is a vet on call afterhours for emergencies.

About this role
Northland Veterinary Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Companion Animal Vet to join our well-established practice.
Come and join our much-loved Small Animal general practice, where you will feel happy to walk through the door each day! We have a happy and kind team, loyal clients, and long-standing connections with local veterinary specialists, allowing you great professional satisfaction. Whangarei is almost always sunny, and with a wonderfully diverse community, you can enjoy a wide range of cultural experiences.
As a respected member of our friendly team, you will have the opportunity to develop a close working relationship with our loyal clients and their small friends, whilst being encouraged to work up cases and take them through from initial presentation to resolution. Each day, you will be supported and mentored through an interesting mix of consulting, treatment, and surgical responsibilities.
This is a permanent position with approximately 1:6 after-hours roster (CA only) with days off after a weekend worked. Full or part-time applicants will be considered.
We value CPD and will support attendance at CPD that is relevant to the needs of the practice.

Whangarei (NZ) is a rapidly growing area where you can enjoy the café, art, and culture scene. We have an extensive and beautiful coastline with easy access, providing year-round hiking, horseback riding, etc. Whangarei is only 2 hours from Auckland, and our houses are still affordable.
