About us
Step into a legacy reimagined. At our hospital, we are currently embarking on an inspiring new chapter, blending our deeply rooted history with a bold rebrand and extensive facility remodel. We are more than just a referral center; we are a dedicated “work home” where the energy of transformation meets the stability of a well-established practice. Our leadership team functions as a group of mentors and peers, focusing on a human-centric approach that prioritizes team dynamics just as much as clinical excellence.
Our expansive facility is designed to provide the clinical freedom you deserve, featuring three treatment areas, twenty hospital stalls, and specialized ICU and isolation wards. We believe that high-tier equine care is most successful when the team feels supported, heard, and empowered to do their best work in a collaborative, family-oriented environment.
We recently had our horse Uno cared for at the newly renamed San Antonio Equine Hospital (formerly Retama), and we can say with full confidence that Uno quite literally wouldn’t be alive today without their phenomenal care. He faced an incredibly low chance of survival given his condition, but Dr. Kenny May and his team went above and beyond to make sure he received the absolute best treatment. You should be board-eligible and capable of obtaining Texas licensure, bringing a proactive approach to both ambulatory services and complex hospitalized cases.
