About us
Barbers Hill Animal Hospital is a modern, purpose-built small animal practice in Mont Belvieu, TX, established in 2019 with a clear mission: deliver exceptional medicine without compromise. In just a few years, the practice has earned a 4.8-star Google rating, a reflection of the trust this growing community places in the team and the standard of care they deliver daily.
The clinical environment here is built for thoroughness. You’re supported to run complete workups, pursue sophisticated diagnostics, and practice medicine the way you were trained to, without shortcuts or production pressure dictating your clinical decisions. The facility itself is modern from the ground up, designed to match the quality of medicine the team is committed to delivering.
As part of the Mission Pet Health network, you get something increasingly rare: the collegial autonomy of a locally run hospital with the professional infrastructure of a larger organization behind you. That means access to specialty consultations, structured mentorship, and a nationwide community of over 20,000 veterinary professionals when you want a second opinion or a new perspective. Leadership here operates as a support system, not a hierarchy. The focus is on removing obstacles from your day so you can do what you do best.
Easy to get an appointment. Did not have to wait. Nice vet assistant. Clean room. Vet examined our pup and talked about his pluses but also his needs. He took his shots and didn’t even whimper. Received a Pup Cup – Theresa H – Google Review
About this role
This is a full-time veterinarian position focused on comprehensive small animal and urgent care medicine. Your day centers on building genuine, long-term relationships with clients and their pets, seeing cases through from that first consultation to a meaningful clinical outcome.
You’ll have the clinical freedom to lead patient care on your terms, supported by a dedicated paraprofessional team that allows you to focus on the medicine rather than the logistics. Here’s what that looks like in practice:
- Comprehensive Case Management: Lead diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-through with the time and resources to do it right.
- Urgent Care Leadership: Manage acute presentations with confidence, backed by modern equipment and collaborative support.
- Client Partnership: Communicate findings clearly and compassionately, helping pet owners make informed decisions about their animal’s care.
- Preventative Excellence: Deliver robust wellness programs that build trust and create lasting client relationships in a community that genuinely values its local veterinary team.
About you
You’re a veterinarian who wants to practice with intention, someone who finds real satisfaction in thorough medicine and long-term patient relationships. You communicate with clarity and empathy, understanding that a worried pet owner needs both honesty and reassurance. You’re collaborative by nature, contributing positively to the team around you while taking ownership of your own clinical decisions. You bring a genuine desire to keep growing, whether that’s refining your surgical skills, exploring a clinical interest area, or stepping into mentorship yourself.
If you’ve been looking for a practice where your standards are shared rather than tolerated, this is worth a conversation.
You hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and a valid, active state license.
