About us
We’ve been part of the Edinboro community since 1952, and that kind of longevity doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because generations of clients trust us with their animals, and generations of veterinarians have found a professional home worth staying in. We’re a three-doctor, full-service hospital with a strong support team and a culture built around doing great medicine without burning out the people who deliver it. Our leadership philosophy is simple: give talented clinicians the tools, the trust, and the breathing room to practice at the top of their skillset. Nestled on the shores of Edinboro Lake and a short drive from Lake Erie, our location offers a rare blend of college-town energy and lakeside calm, with Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Buffalo all within 90 minutes when you want the big-city experience.
We are a proud member of National Veterinary Associates, a leading global pet care organization united in the love of animals and the people who love them.
At NVA, we’re on a mission to improve the lives of pets and the people who love them. That starts by empowering our care teams. We nurture their growth with resources to practice medicine their way. Our network of 1,000 hospitals connects them to a community of professionals who share their passion so they can learn and grow together. Our national presence enables us to deliver technology and innovations that simplify work and expand care for all. At NVA, we’re committed to your professional growth. We support your entire career journey, offering opportunities ranging from mentorship to ownership.
I switched to Camboro Veterinary Hospital 3 years ago. That was the BEST move I could make for my pet’s care!!! They are very personable and very caring, both with the care for your pet and your concerns. They are sure to include what your feelings are toward your pet’s care also. They take the time to make sure that you understand everything and that your questions are answered! I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a new vet!!! – James J – Google Review
About this role
This is a Managing Veterinarian / Medical Director position, and it’s built for someone who wants to lead with clinical credibility, not just a title. You’ll oversee medical operations, set protocols, and shape the standard of care across the hospital. But the real substance of this role is in the daily rhythm: mentoring associate veterinarians, collaborating with our Hospital Manager on operational flow, and making the kind of strategic decisions that move a practice forward. You’ll have direct influence over case management, clinical growth initiatives, and the overall direction of the hospital. For the right candidate, there’s also an optional joint ownership pathway, a genuine financial stake in a hospital you’re helping to build.
About you
You’re a veterinarian who’s ready to step fully into leadership, or you’re already leading and looking for a place where your input actually shapes outcomes. You bring strong clinical instincts, clear communication under pressure, and a genuine interest in developing the people around you. You’re not interested in managing from a distance; you want to be in the thick of it, mentoring, problem-solving, and setting the tone for a team that takes pride in its work. A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM or equivalent) and an active Pennsylvania veterinary license (or the ability to obtain one) are required. Previous leadership or management experience is valued.
Our location
Nestled around Edinboro Lake, Edinboro, PA, combines college-town charm with resort-style amenities like boating, fishing, and kayaking. Whether you enjoy the outdoors or a cozy café, Edinboro has something to offer. Plus, we’re less than 90 minutes from Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Buffalo, giving you access to big-city attractions while enjoying the serenity of small-town living.
Our offer
- Base salary of $135,000 to $155,000
- Production-based bonuses
- $30,000 signing bonus
- Optional joint ownership opportunity
- Four-day workweek
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Life and disability insurance
- 401(k) with employer match
- Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays
- State veterinary license, DEA license, and CE coverage

We’re also happy to explore other remuneration structures that may better suit your individual needs, something we can discuss as our conversation develops.
