About us
Cane Bay Veterinary Clinic is a privately owned, Fear Free certified practice located just outside Summerville, SC, and we intend to stay that way. Founded in 2019 by Dr. Katie Hill Rogers, our clinic was built on a straightforward conviction: great veterinary medicine happens when the people delivering it are genuinely looked after.
Dr. Hill Rogers leads our team with the kind of credibility that only comes from still being in the trenches. She practices daily alongside her team, bringing a clinical focus on preventative medicine and dentistry, while creating the conditions for everyone around her to do their best work. She graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 and completed an internship at Auburn University before returning to the Lowcountry to build a career and, eventually, a clinic rooted in the community she grew up in.
Our team is tight, talented, and genuinely enjoys working together. Ask any of them what they love most about the clinic, and the answer is always the same: each other, the clients and pets we serve, and the breadth of knowledge across the group. We operate as a high-functioning unit where psychological safety isn’t a buzzword… it’s the reason people stay. Collaboration is real here, feedback flows both ways, and leadership is accessible because leadership is in the room, seeing patients right alongside you.
We are the only Fear Free certified veterinary clinic in Summerville, and that philosophy runs through everything we do. From dental radiographs to therapy laser and ultrasound, we’ve invested in the tools that let you practice with confidence and provide answers your patients deserve.
Our experience with CBVC has been exceptional. Dr. Hill is very knowledgeable and patient. She is helping us with an international relocation process, which requires a lot of time and work. From the front desk and veterinary technicians, the communication has been great. If you want great care for your pet this is the place to go – Kira A – Google Review
About this role
As a Veterinary Technician at Cane Bay, you are not a bystander in patient care… you are central to it. Your day will be varied, hands-on, and genuinely meaningful. You’ll work closely with our doctors through the full arc of each case, from initial exam through diagnostics, treatment, and recovery.
- Patient Advocacy: Champion a calm, Fear Free experience for every patient, reducing stress and building trust from the moment they walk through the door.
- Diagnostics & Laboratory: Perform in-house lab work and diagnostic imaging, giving our doctors the clinical picture they need to act decisively.
- Anesthesia & Monitoring: Manage anesthesia protocols and patient recovery with the attention to detail that keeps outcomes strong.
- Client Education: Guide pet owners through care plans and preventive strategies, translating clinical language into clear, compassionate conversation.
- Surgical & Procedural Support: Assist in treatments and procedures, anticipating needs before they arise and keeping the clinical flow smooth.
This is a role where you’ll see the direct impact of your work every single day.
We are also on the lookout for:
- Veterinary Technician Assistants – Technician Assistants support our medical team and help create a smooth, efficient workflow throughout the hospital.
- Veterinary Medical Receptionists – Our Receptionists create the first and last impression for every client who walks through our doors.
About you
You’re a technician who takes pride in the craft. You bring strong technical skills and a genuine commitment to patient comfort, and you’re looking for a team that matches your standards.
You thrive in a collaborative environment where you can ask questions, share ideas, and contribute to how things get done… not just execute tasks. You handle feedback well, communicate clearly under pressure, and approach conflict with professionalism rather than avoidance.
You’re proactive. You think a step ahead, preparing for what’s next rather than waiting to be told. You care about continuous improvement, both in your own clinical skills and in the systems around you. And you want to be part of something that feels different… a practice where your growth is actively supported and your contribution is recognized.
A credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT) qualification is preferred, though experienced technicians with demonstrated skill and a commitment to learning will also find a home here.
