Pinball and snacks in the breakroom. FREE MUG with job! 😉
Ditch the corporate nonsense for our special brand of independently-owned nonsense! We accidentally discovered there is a long-term correlation between profitability and having excellent staff, enough of them, and creating jobs/environments that docs don’t hate! WHO KNEW?!? Really looking for docs invested in your profession and all that “life long learning” that has served you so well.

About us
LISTEN TO WHY YOU DON’T WANT TO COME ANYWHERE NEAR ACCESS VET CARE IN NEW ALBANY, IN!
- “I called to let them know I was running 10 minutes late…. They informed me since I was late I would have to reschedule. Needless to say I will be taking my animals elsewhere for their vet care.” Yeah, you called 15 minutes after your appointment, so unless you have a time machine and a teleporter I don’t think you understand how time works. But we’re glad we could help you understand the concept of “appointment” better for your next vet (sorry next vet).
- “Very poor customer service. Held pet hostage in order to receive immediate payment.” – Guy, the only thing we want less than you stiffing our hard-working team on the bill is to be stuck with your dog too (though I hear he was a very good boy).
- “This was one of my best initial experiences at a vet. They were very warm and kind and great with my dog.” – Clearly you either didn’t read the reviews or have low standards. Didn’t you hear Karen from Yelp?!?
- “You feel so welcome here. And they explain everything so thoroughly. I feel they really care for my pet. I put my upmost trust in them.” – Actually… yeah, no jokes here, that’s just really nice to hear.
——-
IF YOU TOO WOULD LIKE TO WORK WITH THE TEAM THAT KAREN FROM YELP HATES, BUT A WHOLE ARMY OF OTHER AWESOME CLIENTS ABSOLUTELY LOVES:
- www.accessvetcare.com ; Just outside of Louisville, KY (Indiana side)
- 4-day week, no nights (and no overnight care), no weekends or call
- Awesome toys (including a pinball machine), great medicine
- Badass hilarious team of doctors and staff
- Good salary and benefits, not commission based. Specifics vary just like docs do; we’ve offered 3 vets positions in 5 years and every one has taken us over other offers.
YOU need a degree, license, interest in medicine/surgery/dentistry, and. to… not suck as a human? Yada yada. Bonus points if you’re FREAKING HILLARIOUS, quote Homestar Runner, whistle like Andrew Bird, or do something cool I’m not familiar with. New stuff is cool. Resumes to mgmt@accessvetcare.com
I can’t say enough good things about Access. The entire team is always so helpful, considerate, and genuinely kind. They treat my dog like the wonderful baby she is, which means everything to me. They’re timely in their responses, take the time to listen to my concerns, and never make me feel rushed. It’s such a relief knowing my pup is in caring, capable hands. – Tiffany Lynch
About this role
Communication – 80% of medicine is educating clients, another 10% is convincing clients to do what you tell them (the remaining 10% is some combo of knowledge, training, and made up statistics)
- Ability to manage medical cases
- Interest in Surgery or Dentistry (we are more than happy to mentor either or both as needed)
- Ability to lead and respect the fantastic team AVC provides. We got ya brains, hands, and wit here
About you
Fun Fact: You can teach knowledge, you can train skills, but you can’t really make anyone be a decent, respectful human if they aren’t already. And no, we have zero specific guidelines for what “decent human” requires beyond treating other humans with decency and respect regardless of how they might see the world and/or move through it differently than you.
Also, you can’t teach ambition and determination. Really looking for docs invested in a profession and all that “life long learning” they made so much hay of back in vet school. We want to invest in you. You gotta want to invest in you first, though.
Our location
Louisville is an awesome, open-minded city amid the corn and tobacco deserts of Indiana and Kentucky. You want entertainment and culture? We’ve got a nationally renowned theater, great music scene, fantastic ballet (yeah, not your thing prolly but I dig it), and sports ( U of L, plus a great soccer team). We’ve got the good kinda history – bourbon history, horse history, Muhammed Ali history. You hungry? We’ve got a fantastic, varied food scene with nationally renowned chefs and better yet, random delicious hole-in-the-walls and ethnic variety. More the outdoors type? This is an oasis in the middle of green and varied Midwest scenery. Grab a kayak, grab a horse, grab your hiking shoes.
And the only better thing than living in Louisville? Living next door in Southern Indiana, where you don’t have to deal with any of that traffic or other nonsense until you want to. And the cost of living is substantially cheaper too.
