About this role
One of our biggest strengths is client education and making health care a collaborative effort. Our next doctor needs to have great communication skills and the ability to teach. Not in the typical sense, but being able to guide our staff as well as clients to the best possible medicine within that budget. Good diagnostic skills are essential, but they don’t mean much if you can’t have the support staff and owners on the journey.
Basic soft tissue surgical skills are needed as well as being proficient at oral/dental procedures and care under anesthesia.
We have a good exotic pet caseload and a working knowledge of those patients would be a bonus, but not essential to this position.
About you
We spend A LOT of time together – during the day and sometimes we also choose to hang out after work! So our staff have to be the kind of people who can laugh at themselves before laughing at others, and handle the fast pace and difficult cases with grace and humility.
And at the end of the day, be able to know that we have each other’s back and really do care about everyone’s wellbeing.

Our location
The physical practice is literally at the crossroads of Rio Rancho, Corrales and Albuquerque. So the location is part of why people come see us.
And if you are not familiar with Albuquerque, you should get to know us! All four seasons with none of them too extreme. Not enough time in the day for all the outdoor sports and fun. And weather to pick up and move for!
Great local cuisine, a jumping music scene and incredible brew houses and scratch distilleries abound (if you are in to those things). Ask me about the rich culture and diversity here and we can talk for hours…
Our offer
Of course the nuts and bolts depend somewhat on your level of experience.
Salaries are up to $130,000/yr for new or recent grads and up to $160,000 for seasoned doctors
We usually suggest any new hire start on a salary-based pay and then eventually, if you want, discuss transitioning to more of a base + production (“ProSal). We want you to be comfortable with what you are earning.
And depending on full-time or part-time hours, we have great benefits – paid vacation (included in PTO), $2500 towards CE costs PLUS paid CE time off (in addition to PTO).
Full health care costs, licenses, dues and DEA license are included.
