This Associate Veterinarian role is especially well suited to a new or early-career veterinarian who wants to grow their confidence in a genuinely supportive setting. You will work alongside experienced doctors, licensed technicians, and a long-standing support team who understand that good medicine is built through collaboration, communication, and trust.

You will have the opportunity to contribute across routine wellness care, medical workups, dentistry, surgery, urgent cases, and client education, with mentorship available as you grow. Our location

Smithfield Animal Hospital is located in historic Smithfield, Virginia, a growing community in the Hampton Roads region known for its small-town charm, local character, and access to the wider coastal lifestyle of southeastern Virginia.

You will have the ease of a friendly, community-based setting, with larger coastal destinations close by. Virginia Beach is approximately 45 minutes away, giving you access to beaches, restaurants, outdoor recreation, and weekend escapes without needing to live in the middle of a major city.
